Senior Manager, Design Studio Management Position with Coach


Title:Senior Director, Design Management Studio

Primary objective:The Senior Manager, Design Management Studio is responsible for directing the design and development facilitation and development of leather goods, footwear and specialty categories in Women’s and Men’s Coach 1941, Coach NY and Coach Outlet. The Senior Manager will work cross-functionally with Design, Creative, Merchandising, Product Development, Materials Development, Sourcing and our in-house sample rooms on the end-to-end process. They play a vital role at every step, ensuring that the design intent is executed to the highest standards. This role acts as a key ambassador for design.
Main Responsibilities:
– Lead the design process, lead communication, and share creative vision across all categories and cross-functional partners, upholding design integrity while ensuring key milestones are met.
– Acts as a bridge between product design and development, with in-depth knowledge of product details and desired outcomes.
– Work closely with the PMO and PD to ensure that milestones are in line with established design deadlines. Act as the design lead in discussions on the strategic schedule.
– Coordinates information for special projects and collaborations (outside of the seasonal briefs and collections process). Galvanizes the cross-functional team to support and partners to develop timelines, often abbreviated, to achieve success.
– Acts as a gatekeeper, filtering out all new design requests to keep the workload balanced.
– Liaise with RTW Design & Design Studio Manager to share information and ensure seasonal concepts / ideas flow through leather goods and footwear design teams.
– Make sure designers are aware of upcoming meetings. Prepare the tools, resources and information needed to help designers achieve deliverables. .
– Anticipate potential challenges, obstacles and delays and proactively provide recommendations and contingency plans. Provide solutions for improvements and process improvements, reducing complexity and non-creative work where possible.
– Participate in Product Committee meetings with those in charge of design, merchandising and development.
– Help create a creative atmosphere and workplace, creating an inspiring environment for all

Requirements:
– Minimum of 7 to 10 years of expertise in the design and development of luxury leather goods and accessories required
– Must have a global mindset and experience working with cross-functional partners
– Demonstrated success in managing a studio / design processes
– Must be very resourceful and knowledgeable
– Strong and convincing communication style; ability to mobilize teams around a creative vision
– Highly collaborative working style
