Department of Fashion and Textiles
The Fashion and Textiles Department is the largest department in the school, providing training in design, leadership and strategy and marketing, at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. The department supports one of Europe’s largest international student communities studying fashion leadership, management and strategy programs, while maintaining a long-standing reputation for developing high-level design practices and of craft skills. The department supports a diverse and inclusive research environment, with notable strengths in fashion and textiles and cultural history, critical luxury studies, sustainability, and innovation in textiles and electronic materials.
About the role
This role focuses on maintaining our growing national and international reputation in the field of fashion design. This will involve playing a leading role in the development of teaching and learning activities in the department and focusing on the provision of high quality education, with emphasis on the development and maintaining a national and international reputation for original educational research that complements broader school and university research. and education strategy. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school, which encompasses education, research and enterprise, with a focus on student experience, research-based programs, as well as collaborations with industry partners.
You will contribute to the development of teaching and learning strategies within the department, delivering the highest quality education in relevant subject areas including fashion design, professional fashion practice and fashion and sustainability .
You will also be expected to contribute to curriculum development, program and module design, and lead innovative teaching approaches. You will be a strong leader and manager in your field and will be willing to work with colleagues inside and outside the school.
With sustainability and digital at the heart of this role, you will work alongside other academics and colleagues in the school to build on an already well-established national and international reputation. You will be part of a dynamic group of scholars leading the way in fashion design. Relevant academic and industrial experience is welcome.
