Department of Fashion and Textiles
The Fashion and Textiles Department is the largest department in the school, providing training in design, leadership and strategy and marketing, at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. The department supports one of the largest international student communities in Europe studying fashion leadership, marketing, management and strategy programs, while maintaining a long-standing reputation for developing high-end design practices. level and craft skills. The department supports a diverse and inclusive research environment, with notable strengths in fashion and textiles and cultural history, critical luxury studies, sustainability, and innovation in textiles and electronic materials.
This role is part of the school’s Fashion and Textile department. The department includes undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of fashion design and textile design, as well as fashion leadership, including fashion management, fashion marketing and branding, fashion marketing with management and luxury brand management.
This role focuses on maintaining our growing national and international reputation in fashion design with sustainability, diversity, technical excellence and digital resilience at the heart of the department. The role will focus on delivering high quality education and research that complements the wider education and research strategy of the school and university. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school, which encompasses education, research and enterprise, with a focus on student experience, curriculum development, underpinned by research, as well as collaboration with industry partners.
You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering an excellent standard of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, as well as the ability to develop a variety of learning and teaching approaches to provide an excellent level of education and support. Key to this role is being able to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the school, as well as integrating high quality teaching and research activities to ensure that the strategies of the university and school are respected. You will be highly motivated, responsible and creative with a high level of technical and leadership skills, and a passion for professional and personal development. You will have excellent communication skills, be experienced in working with a diverse and inclusive team of staff and students, and be able to contribute to and support university and school strategies.
