Lakme Fashion Week and Fashion Design Council of India to jointly present Phygital Week March 16-21 | Fashion trends

Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) and the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) announced on Monday that they will present a joint fashion week scheduled for March 16-21.

The LFW, jointly organized by Lakme and RISE Worldwide, will have a special “unit logo” designed to mark the occasion.

Fashion week will be organized in a hybrid format, i.e. virtual and field events.

LFW, in partnership with FDCI, will soon release the program featuring designers from New Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of India.

The FDCI and LFW will jointly present the opening show on March 16 and culminate with the Lakme Absolute Grand finale on March 21.

“The pandemic has darkened the clouds, it will add a ray of hope to the fashion business and help refine the needs of a rapidly changing world.

“Lakme, RISE Worldwide and FDCI will now have a common purpose and belonging as we both reinvent the wheel in uncertain times. We are delighted to present this fashion week together,” said Sunil Sethi, President of the FDCI, in a press release.

Ashwath Swaminathan, innovation manager at Lakme, said the team looks forward to the partnership, which will open up growth avenues “for all stakeholders”.

The event will feature a GenNext Designer Talent Discovery Program and also promote modeling talent through the FDCI’s #GetNoticed Model Hunt.

FDCI and LFW will also continue their buyers’ programs launched last season.

Jaspreet Chandok, Head – Lifestyle Businesses at RISE Worldwide, said the collaboration will help elevate the fashion industry to new heights.

“We are happy to partner with FDCI and look forward to jointly presenting Lakme Fashion Week this season as we rise as one,” said Chandok.
