IKEA’s first ‘Design Studio’ in Canada has just opened near Toronto

If you’re ready to elevate your space but aren’t sure how to do it, IKEA has you covered. The company’s first ever design studio in Canada has just opened in Oshawa and you don’t need to walk into an IKEA store to bring your dream home to life. Here’s how it works.

First, you’ll schedule an appointment with one of Design Studio‘s expert planners, then sit down with them to work on your next home project. Whether you’re remodeling your kitchen or want to maximize space in your small apartment, the planners will not only design and quote everything for you, but they’ll also order it, so you can pick it up or have it delivered.

You will also have the option of using a self-service planning station in the studio space, where you can browse and get inspired. The Design Studio does not have any in-stock products to purchase, but there will be a few sample items on display.

IKEA says the studio is a short-term concept and will only stay open for 12 to 18 months. But, if that location is too far out of your way, IKEA plans to open several more in the GTA, with more details to come in the coming months.

This isn’t the only new project IKEA is launching in the Toronto area. The company is preparing to open its first smaller format downtown store in the country, just down the street from Dundas Square. It will feature over 2,000 products and some of its signature food items for sale. The store is expected to open late this year or early 2022.
