Designers can apply for the competition in the US and UK on Klarna’s website and are invited to submit a look that “best represents your fluid world”. The competition encourages members of the LGBTQ community to participate. The contest winner will have direct access to Reed at an exclusive mentoring luncheon where they will receive advice and guidance on how to break into the fashion world.

“My vision is that inclusivity and sustainability will become central to the future of fashion,” Reed said. “There is no better way to foster this inclusive and eco-conscious culture than to instill it in the next generation of aspiring fashion designers. This competition builds on my previous work advocating for the inclusion of genres and I look forward to meeting the winner and future creative talent.”

David Sandstrom, Chief Marketing Officer at Klarna, added: “Klarna has a long-standing focus on promoting diversity and inclusion in everything we do. In partnership with Harris Reed because this contest is a great opportunity to support the future of Anglo-American fashion. It builds on our work in both supporting the fashion industry and designers, but also ensuring that consumers have sustainable fashion choices available to them.
