God of War Ragnarok’s Odin Was Hardest Character to Design, Says Art Director

God of War Ragnarok brings the series’ Norse saga to a close, which means that – even more so than usual – Kratos will face off against a number of formidable foes. The likes of Thor and Freya are going to get a lot of the spotlight, sure, and for obvious reasons, but as king of the Norse pantheon of gods, Odin the Allfather will, in many ways, be the game’s main villain.

We haven’t heard or seen much of what we can expect from Odin in God of War Ragnarok, but apparently bringing it to life was quite a challenge for SIE Santa Monica Studio. As spotted by a user on Reddit, God of War Ragnarok Art director Raf Grassetti was recently asked on Instagram who was the hardest character to design in the game, and according to him, Odin takes the cake. His answer is pretty dry and we’re not quite sure why he went with Odin, but it’s clear the folks at SIE Santa Monica Studio don’t want to say too much, especially when it comes to Odin. .

Recently, thanks to the official unboxing video of God of War Ragnarok Jotnar Edition we got our first look at the game’s nine realms. Pre-orders for the game have also gone live, thanks to which it seems to have been accidentally confirmed that the game will feature both 30 FPS and 60 FPS options. .

God of War Ragnarok is due out November 9 on PS5 and PS4.
