3 + 2 Design Studio and iDrip decipher the code of perfectly infused coffee with science

Brewing coffee is both an art and a science. Depending on the strain you choose, where it was grown, the ripening weather conditions, how it was roasted, the water temperature, how long you let it steep and even how you stir it, the coffee can produce a virtually endless amount of flavor. To celebrate all of these possibilities, science-driven coffee maker brand iDrip has ordered Design studio 3 + 2 to design an exhibition space that shows its IDrip Smart Pourer coffee maker.

Created for the 2021 Taiwan Creative Exhibition in Songshan Culture and Creative Park, the crisp white, lab-like space features experimental test tubes, iDrip machines and a selection of coffee beans from various sources against a background of illustrations inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. The steel plates are assembled in a “lab bench” where customers can select, grind and prepare their coffee beans using the new iDrip Da Vinci Code model. Personalized tea and coffee bags are also on display, including the “Charcoal Roasted Oolong Tea” designed and developed by Michelin chef André Chiang and the “Blend Papa Rich” coffee by the 2014 world coffee roasting champion, Jacky Lai.

“Mimicking” the spirit of science “and” the art of coffee, “the Coffee Lab was designed after much trial and tribulation, creating a perfect environment emphasizing the notion that” every drop is science, ”the designers explain.“ Come experience the charm of the coffee brewed by the iDrip Smart Vers-over coffee maker. A bright, transparent display is placed to the side of the exhibition area to display the filter bags. coffee created by over 21 barista champions from over 15 countries Each filter bag tells the personal stories of the baristas and illustrates their unique coffee-making techniques and tastes.

With expert baristas and gourmet coffee selections, the iDrip machine is what makes it possible. While a typical pouring setup requires no more than a filter and a cone-shaped funnel placed over a cup, the iDrip allows you to configure professional settings to decide exactly how your beans are brewed, including the water temperature, flow velocity, flow path, flow frequency and flowering time.
